Crumble Fudge – Bags of Tradition

Quiggin's Kendal Mint Cake ShopStep Back In Time With Our Tasty Traditional Fudge Treats.

Everyone loves an old-fashioned sweet shop. All those jars lined up on shelves. Weighing out quantities to put into paper bags. These places make us feel nostalgic for times gone by, and they are a delightful treat for children experiencing them for the first time. Although, it isn’t just the shop itself that provides fond memories. The sweets themselves take us back to happy times.

There is something special about traditional confectionery.

At Quiggin’s HQ, we understand confectionery. Having made sweet treats for 180 years, our products are steeped in history.

Take our crumble fudge, for instance. It’s creamy and crumbly texture makes it one of our most popular sweets.

Bags of Tradition

It isn’t definitively known where fudge was first made.

Some people believe fudge was first created in America during the late 19th Century after a batch of toffee went wrong. It certainly became popular. Because of decreasing refined white sugar costs, it was the perfect thing to make at home. It didn’t require any special equipment, was cheap to make and recipes were readily available.

In the UK, it is believed the more traditional butter-based fudge was developed from sweets such as Scottish Tablet and Lancashire Crumble. Both are on record as being produced at the beginning of the 18th Century.

What we do know for certain is that Quiggin’s have been producing confectionery since 1840, and our traditional crumble fudge remains a firm favourite.

Bags of Choice

With twenty-seven flavours to choose from, our extensive range of fudge is sure to please everyone. For the chocolate connoisseur, try ‘Death by Chocolate’. Our ‘Prosecco’ or ‘Gin and Tonic’ flavours are perfect for a celebration. We even have a ‘Christmas Pudding’ fudge!

However, you needn’t worry. For the more traditional fudge-lover try our ‘Butter’ or ‘Vanilla’ flavours. Trust us. It is just like the fudge your Grandma used to make.

Other flavours include:
· Fruit and Nut
· Clotted Cream
· Raisin and Rum
· Ginger
· Liquorice
· Coffee

And that’s why Quiggin’s is the only choice for traditional confectionery. Our recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. Our methods may have changed slightly over the years, but the flavour certainly hasn’t.

It is important to us that Quiggin’s remains connected to its illustrious past. We are proud to be one of the oldest confectionery companies in the UK. Our knowledge and experience mean people all around the world choose our sweet treats time and time again.
